• Justin Moorman

After graduating from Murray State University with his bachelors in Animal Health Technology, Justin obtained his RVT in 2008. After working in general practice for a few years he was accepted to the University of Lincoln in the United Kingdom for a masters degree in clinical behavior. There, he finished his degree in animal behavior counseling with a thesis on feline visual cognition. In 2012 he resumed work as a technician at various mixed specialty/emergency hospitals on the eastern seaboard while doing in home canine and feline behavior consults, eventually co-owning his own behavior consulting business. In 2017 he put his professional career on hold for a short while, teaching high school ESL and chemistry in Shanghai, China. After coming back to the U.S. and moving to Los Angeles, he has been working in emergency and critical care. In 2020 he was accepted by AVECCTN as a specialist in emergency and critical care.

He is a firm believer that you can always learn something from everyone. His devotion to scholarship has most recently translated to advocacy for the continued development of veterinary nurses, steadily improving the standard of care for our patients. Justin has a passion for exploring new places and travels whenever he can. In his personal time, he enjoys training in mixed martial arts, weightlifting, playing video games, and hanging out with a small group of friends playing Dungeons and Dragons.

  • Jesse Roberts

Jesse was born just outside Philadelphia PA where he obtained his Veterinary Technician license from Harcum College in 2007. From there he went on to work in the Emergency Room and Anesthesia department at the University of Pennsylvania before heading down to Florida in 2009 to work at a drive through safari park where he got to utilize his anesthetic skills in the field working with wild animals. In 2011 Jesse started his trek west and went on to work in the anesthesia department at the University of Minnesota where he obtained his Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Anesthesia and Analgesia. In 2013 to present day, Jesse moved to the left coast and started working at VCA’s flagship hospital in Los Angeles where he began their first anesthesia department which is still flourishing today covering anesthesia for multiple specialties and consistently producing VTS technicians in Anesthesia and Analgesia.

When not on the floor Jesse likes to follow all Philly sports teams (which never seem to win), cook, and entertain for friends and family. Fun fact about Jesse he lived and played rugby in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and his time there solidified his passion for animals and was a large driving factor for him to progress through out his career.
