This course covers common anesthetic pharmaceuticals. We will go over opioids, benzodiazepines, alpha 2 agonists, dissociatives, anesthetics and their associated receptors and mechanism of action along with common side effects. This course covers which drug categories are reversible and which are not. This course will include which drugs cause analgesia, sedation, and or muscle relaxation.

This course will help you understand basic monitoring, physical and electrical. One will learn about the purpose and limitations of monitoring devices as well as the ability to troubleshoot basic problems when monitoring.

This lecture covers the different breathing systems. Rebreathing versus non rebreathing. Advantages and disadvantages to using both types of systems. This lecture will cover the anesthetic machine, how to pressure check the machine and common techniques for troubleshooting the anesthetic machine.
